Successful Email Marketing

Email marketing is one of the most effective marketing methods... if done properly. Email Client

Your own email client, such as Microsoft Outlook can be used with the bcc facility (blind copy) so you don't make public everyone's email address. However, most ISPs (Internet Service Providers) deliberately limit the number of emails you can send and actively block bulk emails to prevent spamming, so although it is free it has lots of limitations.

Website Based Email System

This is sometimes provided as a module within your website which captures in a database the details of anyone registering on your site, completing your Contact form, or buying a product through your website. It enables you to create an email and send it to all your subscribers, or in some cases to particular categories of subscribers.

Autoresponders and email marketing solutions are tailor made for sending out  marketing emails and newsletters to your mailing list. There are several advantages to using one of these systems compared with the first two options:

• white listed servers, in other words they are recognised as non-spamming mail servers so your email won't get blocked
• track email delivery, open and click-through rates enabling you to measure how your email campaign performs  
• set up a complete automated email campaign with scheduled delivery times
• email templates provided
• spam checks to scan the content of your email for words that will get it dumped into the junk folder
• manage multiple subscriber lists
